About The Event
January is National Choreography Month! This is a choreographic kick in the pants. The organization's founders believe that choreography is a skill that develops through practice. While choreographers often focus on product and performance, NACHMO focuses on the joy of the fast and sometimes messy process of making a dance against a deadline. Above all, NACHMO is a lark! The NACHMO challenge is open to everyone. The Ann Arbor Hub, hosted by Dance Uprising, creates a curated performance following the January challenge to share choreographers' work with their community. The Ann Arbor Hub works hard to include a diverse group of choreographers and dances, including but not limited to dance style, choreographic experience, and cultural influence.
